(This is the introduction to a book I have started. I will continue to post chapters of the book as I write them.)
Please, listen to me closely, for I may only have hours left. I must tell you my story, but be forewarned: all those who know the clues to the Truth are liable to be killed. And if you start the search, you are most certainly next on Truth’s list of victims.
This story started long before this galaxy was born; it began with the creation of time. This is when people began to have a future, and when they began to search for the Truth. What is the Truth? The Truth is everything. The Truth is there to reveal the reality of the universe. Fortunately, the Truth is something you cannot just stumble upon; it is something that must be searched for, at a weighty price. Truth does not want to be found. So, for each step that the searchers take to get closer to the Truth, one searcher must die. And thousands of innocents may be murdered in the Truth’s pursuit of a searcher. Once found, the Truth will kill its discoverer. There is no love to be found in the Truth, for it is malicious and brutal.
When I began my search many years ago, I was young and naïve; I did know the Truth killed its finders. But, it is too late for me to turn back— I am on the last leg of my journey. I will soon know the Truth, and then I will be gone. This is why I must tell you my— our story. We, the ten people who started this foolhardy journey together, have gone through so much pain and suffering to get here. It seems pointless for us to die without our story being told. So, I shall leave you with the burden of our tale. That is, if you choose to continue, if you believe the Truth is worth dying for.
